Tallshot Privacy Policy.

Summary

Tallshot is a Chrome extension that captures full-page and element screenshots and lets you edit them in a built-in editor. It runs entirely on your device. Tallshot has no backend servers, requires no account or sign-in, and contains no analytics or tracking. It does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal information.

What Tallshot accesses

To produce a screenshot, Tallshot reads the visual content of the page you are actively viewing — but only at the moment you trigger a capture (by clicking the toolbar icon or choosing a Tallshot option from the right-click menu). The capture is created inside your browser and handed to the Tallshot editor. The image is never uploaded, sent to us, or shared with any third party.

Tallshot does not read or record your browsing history, and it does not run in the background on pages you are not capturing.

What we collect

Nothing. Tallshot does not collect any of the following:

• No personal or contact information.
• No account, profile, or sign-in data.
• No browsing history or list of sites you capture.
• No analytics, telemetry, usage metrics, or crash reports.
• No advertising or tracking identifiers.

Local storage

A capture is held briefly in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) only so it can be handed to the editor tab, and it is removed once the editor loads it. When you export a screenshot, the file is saved wherever you choose through your browser's normal download mechanism, or copied to your clipboard if you select that. All of this stays on your computer.

Permissions and why they're needed

Chrome requires Tallshot to declare the browser permissions it uses. Each one exists solely to make screenshots work, and none of them sends data anywhere:

• Access to the sites you visit (host permissions) — so Tallshot can capture whichever page you are on. It only acts when you explicitly start a capture.
• Scripting and tabs — to measure the page, manage scrolling while stitching a full-page shot, detect restricted pages, and open the editor tab.
• Unlimited storage — to hold large, high-resolution full-page images locally while you edit them.
• Clipboard write — to copy a finished screenshot to your clipboard when you choose "Copy".
• Context menus — to add the "Capture full page" and "Capture element" options to your right-click menu.

Sharing and selling

We do not share, sell, rent, or transfer any data to third parties — because Tallshot does not collect any data in the first place. No third-party services receive information from the extension.

Children's privacy

Tallshot is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If Tallshot's data practices ever change, we will update this page and revise the "last updated" date above before the change takes effect. Continued use of the extension after an update means you accept the revised policy.
